If you are a part of the Sock Club 2011, you'll be receiving your 2nd shipment around the first of February.  I am really excited about the second shipment, because like the first shipment, it is a brand new yarn for TDY & one that will be part of the regular line up for Spring 2011.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Sock Club is on! 11/26/2010
 
The first installment is set to shipout on December 20th - ensuring that it will arrive in time for Christmas.  This means that you can give a very special someone the gift of Sock Club (spanning over 4 months). OR it means you will have a treat for yourself, to aid in surviving the holiday season. 
You can expect to receive 3 different skeins of TurtleDove sock yarn arriving over a span of 4 months.  Each colorway will be exclusive to sock club & not re-released for at least a year.  With each shipment, you will also receive pattern suggestions and at least one original TDY pattern, along with other goodies we like to throw in.

Its coming up this Saturday, July 24th at Wooly Bully from 11-5pm.  Please stop by so that we see you & so that you can see all of our new colors & yarns!  We will be introducing 2 new lines, a fingering weight & a lace.  We'll also have limited amounts of possible new yarns.  Your feedback on those products will be very valuable! 
We'll be hosting a little competition too!  The new colorways have all been named based on a theme.  If you can guess it, you get a free skein!

This is the new Little Five Points Shawl, created to support the new TDY yarn, Myna - a blend of 50% silk, 50% superwash merino wool. 
The pattern is currently only available to sock clubbers, but will be opened up for purchase in another week or two. 

The shawl can be worn traditionally, or as a shrug.  Special instructions for this option will be posted on this blog soon.  Please check back if you have any questions!

Myna is the latest addition to the TurtleDove family.  It is comprised of 50% soft & shiny silk and 50% smooth & lofty, superwash merino.  Myna was the final installment of TDY's first sock club.  However, the pattern support is not for a sock at all.  The pattern will be revealed later this week.  In the mean time, here is a sneak peek!
Here, Myna has been dyed in a colorway, specific to sock clubbers - Kite Day.  I love the way this yarn takes dye, with lots of dimension to each color & the silk content gives it a sheen & catches the light. . . just. . . so.

Okay, so, no pictures yet. 
I will respectfully wait until all Sock Clubbers have received their last skein before unveiling TurtleDove's newest yarn! 
But i will tell you a few crucial things -
First of all, its gorgeous!!  i can't wait to reveal!!!  But, i will demonstrate some restraint. 
Secondly, the new yarn is named: Myna.  The Myna bird, (also the Mynah) is part of the Starling family & is originally only found in Southern & Eastern Asia.   It is probably the softest yarn in the TDY family - yup, even softer than Starling.  Believe that!

I know that everyone has received their second installment by now.  I hope that you all love this second batch - Nebulus.  It was created after being heavily inspired by the Helix Nebula. 
I worked closely with Shari Hill of Blue Button Studios, to get a sock pattern to perfectly support this celestial blend of colors.  Shari created a stitch pattern all her own, which perfectly highlights the contrasts of Nebulus.  Check it out in the Helix Nebula Sock Pattern:

Meet Serendip! - the first colorway of our first sock club!!  I hope that all of you brave first-ever-sock-clubbers are very pleased with the colorway, the way it knits up, the way it washes, the way it feels & the way it just sits there in the skein. 
The Starling base is a squishy, round, merino/cashmere/nylon blend, perfect for a pair of socks, a cowl, scarf, mitts, or anything you'd ever want to touch - a lot!    enjoy!   pattern support for this colorway is coming this week, so stay tuned.  but please let me know what you are creating with this colorway.  can't wait to see your projects!!!  (thanks to Lori for the pic - i sent this yarn out so quickly after it had been dyed, i didn't even get a photo myself!!!)
